How Enquiries Work
When a buyer or supplier wants to send battery stock for recycling, they find a recycler through the public directory and submit an enquiry. The enquiry includes details about the battery type, volume, condition, and any specific requirements.
You receive a notification when a new enquiry arrives. All active enquiries appear in your dashboard.
Reviewing an Enquiry
Each enquiry shows you:
- Battery category and chemistry
- Estimated volume or unit count
- Condition notes provided by the sender
- Any compliance documents attached (SDS, UN38.3)
- A message from the sender (if included)
Review the details to determine whether the batch falls within your processing capabilities and whether you can accept it under your current capacity.
Responding to an Enquiry
You have three options:
Accept
Accept the enquiry with your processing terms. Your response becomes the first message in the deal thread and the deal is created. Both parties are now in a shared workspace to finalise logistics.
Counter
If the enquiry is acceptable but the terms need adjustment, respond with modified terms. The sender can accept or counter again.
Decline
If you cannot process the batch, decline the enquiry with a short reason. The sender is notified and can approach other recyclers.
Setting Your Processing Terms
When accepting an enquiry, your terms should include:
- Any handling or processing fee
- Expected processing timeline
- Documentation you will provide upon completion
- Any site or delivery requirements on your end
These terms are incorporated into the deal agreement that both parties sign.
After Acceptance
Once an enquiry is accepted, the deal moves through a shared workflow covering agreement signing, logistics coordination, and recycling confirmation. See the Deal Lifecycle page for the full step sequence.
Enquiry Expiry
Enquiries without a response from you within 7 days are automatically expired and the sender is notified. If you need more time to respond, contact the sender through the enquiry thread.
