Processing Terms and Documentation

What to include in your processing terms and how to issue recycling confirmation.

Updated 1 April 2026

What Are Processing Terms?

Processing terms are the conditions under which you agree to accept a battery batch for recycling. They are set when you respond to an enquiry and become part of the signed deal agreement.
Clear terms protect both parties and reduce back-and-forth during fulfilment.

What to Include

Handling Fees

State any fee you charge for receiving, processing, or disposing of the battery. If processing generates a rebate (for example, recovered materials with residual value), state that clearly too.

Accepted Battery Categories

Specify the chemistries and formats you can process. If a batch contains a mix of categories, confirm whether you can handle all types or whether sorting is required.

Delivery or Collection Requirements

State how the battery should arrive at your facility:
  • Delivery by sender vs collection by you
  • Packaging and labelling requirements
  • Maximum unit or pallet weight

Timeline

Provide an estimated processing timeline from receipt to completion. If processing produces waste streams with specific disposal obligations, include any regulatory timelines that apply.

Documentation You Will Issue

Recycling confirmation documents must be issued once processing is complete. Specify what you will provide:
  • Certificate of destruction or recycling
  • Weight or volume report
  • Any jurisdiction-specific compliance certificate

Issuing Recycling Confirmation

Once processing is complete, upload the confirmation document in the deal workspace. This moves the deal to its final completion step and notifies the counterparty.
The confirmation document becomes part of the deal record and is accessible to both parties at any time from their deal history.

Regulatory Compliance

Recyclers are responsible for ensuring their processing operations comply with local environmental and waste regulations. ReBattery does not verify regulatory compliance on your behalf. If you are uncertain about obligations in your jurisdiction, consult a waste management specialist.

Updating Your Recycler Profile

Your public recycler profile on the directory shows your accepted battery categories and processing capabilities. Keep this up to date so enquiries you receive are relevant to what you can actually process. You can update your profile from your account settings.
