In September 2026 about 300 complete used EV battery packs were for sale in the UK at any one time, across the online marketplace listings ReBattery tracks and ReBattery's own marketplace. Around 200 new packs were listed and a similar number were removed during the month, so roughly two-thirds of the stock turned over. The typical asking price was £47 per kWh in the 2 October snapshot, after £52 in mid-September. Jaguar I-PACE, Ford Mustang Mach-E and MG4 asking prices rose; Audi e-tron, Polestar 2 and BMW i3 fell.
Applies to: Complete high-voltage traction packs from UK passenger EVs listed for sale in the UK, priced in GBP. Asking prices, not confirmed sales. Published monthly.
The UK used EV battery market was steady in September: about the same number of packs for sale as in August, a lot of turnover underneath, and prices that rose mid-month before easing back.

What it means if you're selling
- The market is moving. Packs are listed and taken off sale at similar rates, so stock doesn't sit unchanged for long.
- Don't price from one listing. A model's asking prices can be set by one or two large sellers. Compare several, or get offers.
- Popular packs move fastest. The Nissan Leaf and Renault Zoe have the deepest pools of listings and sellers.
How we measure it
- Source: the ReBattery Market Index. It combines a weekly scan of UK online marketplace listings, about 9,000 battery listings a week across the 100 most-registered UK electric car families, with listings on ReBattery's own marketplace. Each listing is classified by AI and checked against the vehicle it claims to fit.
- Included: complete high-voltage traction packs from fully electric cars with a stated capacity of 15 kWh or more, priced in GBP. Hybrid batteries, modules, cells and parts are excluded.
- Typical price: the median of each seller's median asking price, per kWh, so one seller with many listings cannot set it.
- New and removed: a pack counts as new the first week it appears and as removed when it disappears from the next snapshot. Removed means sold, ended or withdrawn; it is not a confirmed sale.
- Gaps: there was no snapshot for 25 September, so the 2 October figures cover two weeks of change.
