VW MEB battery packs

MEB packs are built into the VW ID.3, ID.4, ID.5 and ID. Buzz, the Skoda Enyaq, the Audi Q4 e-tron and the Cupra Born. Each pack is named by its usable kWh; listings often give the gross figure instead, so 77 and 82 kWh are the same pack. The 45, 52 and 58 kWh packs use a shorter housing; the 77 kWh pack fills a longer one. VW, Skoda, Audi and Cupra built these packs into their MEB cars, but no source confirms a pack from one model fits another. Check the label and part number against your car.

    The 45 kWh MEB battery is the smallest MEB pack, built into the first ID.3 Pure (45 kWh usable, 48 kWh gross) and the Cupra Born 45 kWh, with 7 modules of NMC pouch cells.

    The 77 kWh MEB battery is the long-housing pack: 77 kWh usable and 82 kWh gross, 288 NMC pouch cells in 12 modules, about 490 to 500 kg. VW, Skoda, Audi and Cupra built it into the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, Enyaq, Q4 e-tron and Born.
