Reference
We list three MG ZS EV battery sizes: 44.5 kWh in cars from 2019 to 2021, and after the late-2021 facelift the 51 kWh LFP Standard Range and the 72.6 kWh NMC Long Range. The ZS EV is based on the petrol ZS, not a dedicated electric platform. Tell the packs apart by the year and the motor power.
Before the facelift, 2019 to 2021
The MG ZS EV 44.5 kWh battery is the first ZS EV pack, in cars from 2019 to 2021 with the 105 kW motor: liquid-cooled and built at the SAIC Motor and CATL joint-venture plant.
Standard Range, from 2022
The MG ZS EV 51 kWh battery is the Standard Range pack in facelifted cars from 2022: LFP chemistry, 51.1 kWh nominal and 49 kWh usable, with the 130 kW / 176 PS motor.
Long Range, from late 2021
The MG ZS EV 72.6 kWh battery is the Long Range pack in facelifted cars from late 2021: NMC chemistry, 72.6 kWh nominal and 68.3 kWh usable, liquid-cooled, with the 115 kW / 156 PS motor.
Each fact is confirmed by two independent sources: MG UK press releases and brochure (one source), plus Auto Express, InsideEVs, electrive, Zapmap, Green Car Guide, AEVA, CarExpert, Drive.com.au, WhichCar and zecar. Facts we could not confirm twice are left out. Checked .Part numbers and sources are on each size's page.
Questions
Still unsure which pack is right? A specialist can check fitment with you.
Talk to a specialistCheck the motor power on the car's documents and the year. A ZS EV from 2019 to 2021, before the facelift, has the 105 kW motor and the 44.5 kWh pack. The facelifted car has a 51 kWh Standard Range pack with a 130 kW / 176 PS motor, or a 72.6 kWh Long Range pack with a 115 kW / 156 PS motor. The Standard Range has more power than the Long Range, so do not judge the pack by power alone. Send us a photo of the label and we will check.
MG ZS EV packs with a fixed price on ReBattery are listed from £1,250 (72.6 kWh) to £1,400 (44.5 kWh) right now. The price depends on condition and measured health, and some sellers take offers instead. Fitting by an EV garage costs extra.
You have 7–14 business days to inspect it. Raise it with evidence and the seller is not paid until it is resolved.
