Talk to a specialistVolvo pairs it with kinetic energy recovery (KERS) and an integrated starter generator. Energy recovered when the car brakes or slows is stored in the 48 V battery and used to help the engine when accelerating. The car cannot drive on the battery alone.
Not confirmed. Volvo built a 48 V battery into the XC90 B5 and the XC60 and XC40 B4 and B5, but no two sources confirm it is the same part in every model. Check the label and part number against your car.
Volvo B4 and B5 mild hybrid packs with a fixed price on ReBattery are listed from £95 (48 V) to £795 (48 V) right now. The price depends on condition and measured health, and some sellers take offers instead. Fitting by an EV garage costs extra.
