Reference
The 69 kWh pack is the Standard range pack of the Polestar 2 from 2022 to mid-2024 and of the Volvo XC40 and C40 Recharge Single Motor to early 2024. It is 69 kWh gross and about 66 to 67 kWh usable.
Note: Sources disagree on the usable figure: ADAC gives 66 or 67 kWh, depending on the car and year.
Note: Sources disagree on the 2022 Volvo Single Motor pack: most give 69 kWh gross, one gives 70 kWh. A 2022 XC40 or C40 listed at 70 kWh is probably the 69 kWh pack, so check the label.
Note: A Polestar 2 Standard range from mid-2024 sold in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, the UAE or Kuwait is listed at 69 kWh, not 70 kWh. Check the year and the label.
Each fact is confirmed by two independent sources: Polestar and Volvo manuals, rescue guides and press material (counted as one source), plus ADAC, electrive, InsideEVs, CleanTechnica and Electrifying.com. Facts we could not confirm twice are left out. Checked . Sources
Questions
Still unsure which pack is right? A specialist can check fitment with you.
Talk to a specialistThe Polestar 2 Standard range Single motor from 2022 to mid-2024, and the Volvo XC40 and C40 Recharge Single Motor until early 2024: front-wheel drive 170 kW to 2022, rear-wheel drive 175 kW from 2023.
Polestar 2 69 kWh packs with a fixed price on ReBattery are listed from £2,300 to £2,999 right now. The price depends on condition and measured health, and some sellers take offers instead. Fitting by an EV garage costs extra.
Not confirmed. The 70 kWh label replaced 69 kWh on the Volvo Single Motor in February 2024 and on most Polestar 2 Standard range cars from mid-2024. No source says whether it is a new pack. The 70 kWh cars charge faster, at up to 180 kW DC.
Check the model year, the motor and the market on the car's documents, then the label on the pack. Send us a photo of the label and we will check.
