Talk to a specialistGo by the generation. A first-generation Kona Electric, from 2018, has a 39.2 or a 64 kWh pack. A second-generation car, from 2023, has a 48.4 kWh Standard Range or a 65.4 kWh Long Range pack. Send us a photo of the label and we will check.
They came with the same battery sizes, 39.2 and 64 kWh, but with cells from different makers (LG for the Kona, SK Innovation for the e-Niro). No source confirms the packs are interchangeable, so check the label.
It may have been. In 2020 Hyundai recalled Kona Electrics to update the battery software. In 2021 it replaced the battery systems in 81,701 vehicles, including 75,680 Kona Electrics, whose cells came from LG Energy Solution's plant in Nanjing, China. In the US that recall covered 2019 and 2020 Kona Electrics. A pack may be the original or a replacement, so ask the seller for the car's VIN and its recall status.
The one Hyundai Kona Electric pack with a fixed price on ReBattery is listed at £4,995 right now. The price depends on condition and measured health, and some sellers take offers instead. Fitting by an EV garage costs extra.
