Reference
The MG ZS EV 51 kWh battery is the Standard Range pack in facelifted cars from 2022: LFP chemistry, 51.1 kWh nominal and 49 kWh usable, with the 130 kW / 176 PS motor.
Note: Sources disagree on the Standard Range figure: UK and EU cars are quoted at 51.1 kWh, Australian cars at 50.3 kWh. No source says whether it is the same pack, so check the label.
Each fact is confirmed by two independent sources: MG UK press releases and brochure (one source), plus Auto Express, InsideEVs, electrive, Zapmap, Green Car Guide, AEVA, CarExpert, Drive.com.au, WhichCar and zecar. Facts we could not confirm twice are left out. Checked . Sources
Questions
Still unsure which pack is right? A specialist can check fitment with you.
Talk to a specialistCheck the motor power on the car's documents and the year. A ZS EV from 2019 to 2021, before the facelift, has the 105 kW motor and the 44.5 kWh pack. The facelifted car has a 51 kWh Standard Range pack with a 130 kW / 176 PS motor, or a 72.6 kWh Long Range pack with a 115 kW / 156 PS motor. The Standard Range has more power than the Long Range, so do not judge the pack by power alone. Send us a photo of the label and we will check.
The 51 kWh Standard Range pack is LFP. The 72.6 kWh Long Range pack is NMC.
Not as far as we can confirm. Both are about 51 kWh and LFP, but the ZS EV is based on the petrol ZS, while the MG4 was designed as an electric car from the start, with a 110 mm thin pack. Check the label.
Check the motor power on the car's documents, then the label on the pack. Send us a photo of the label and we will check.
