Aurubis operates battery recycling pilot plant in Hamburg (operational 2022) using patented hydromet process to recover lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese, graphite from black mass. Olen Belgium facility handles electrolyte processing and metal recovery (€85M, inaugurated Dec 2024). €1.7B investment strategy by 2028.
