The Freiberg recycling operation (historically Ecobat Resources Freiberg) is a major European lead-acid battery recycling and lead-alloy production site, with capacity to recycle up to 75,000 tonnes of battery scrap and produce around 55,000 tonnes of lead and lead alloys annually, plus polypropylene compounds and sodium sulfate. In 2025, Clarios announced integration of the Freiberg facility into its European recycling network to strengthen closed-loop circular supply chains.
