Reference
The BYD Dolphin 60.4 kWh battery is the larger Dolphin pack, in Comfort and Design cars with the 150 kW motor: LFP Blade cells built straight into the pack with no modules.
Note: BYD gives a rated capacity. No source gives a separate usable figure, so we show the rated one.
Note: The Atto 3 and Dolphin packs are both rated about 60.5 kWh. No source says they are the same part, so check the label on the pack and the car it came from.
Each fact is confirmed by two independent sources: BYD's UK and European press material (one source), plus ADAC, electrive and InsideEVs. Facts we could not confirm twice are left out. Checked . Sources
Questions
Still unsure which pack is right? A specialist can check fitment with you.
Talk to a specialistGo by the trim and the motor. Active (70 kW) and Boost (130 kW) cars have the 44.9 kWh pack. Comfort and Design cars (150 kW) have the 60.4 kWh pack. The Dolphin Surf is a different car with its own packs. Send us a photo of the label and we will check.
Not confirmed. Both are rated about 60.5 kWh, but no source says they are the same part or that one goes in the other car. Check the label on the pack and the car it came from.
Sources disagree. A 2026 teardown of a newer Blade pack, built for China, found structural adhesive throughout that made it hard to take apart. A 2026 engineering review describes BYD's design as still serviceable. Ask a BYD specialist before you buy a pack to repair.
