What you're buying

1.58 MWh Samsung SDI battery energy storage system with a 1.25 MW Ingeteam PCS, decommissioned in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Available as the complete system or as individual modules.

Installed in 2018 by a US electric utility as a grid-scale research and development project, and decommissioned after the site lease ended. The seller reports no equipment issues at decommissioning.

Battery: 16 racks with 208 Samsung SDI ELPM762-00018 modules (80.96 V, 94 Ah, about 7.61 kWh each). Each module holds 22 Samsung SDI 94 Ah NMC prismatic cells in series (derived from the module voltage). 1,000 VDC system, with fire suppression.

PCS: Ingeteam INGECON SUN STORAGE 1245TL, 1,247 kW, 766-1,300 VDC input, 3 x 480 V output, manufactured 2018.

Test data: September 2025 inspection. Insulation (1 kVdc, 60 s) passed on all 16 racks. Eight sampled modules passed withstand-voltage, insulation, visual and cell-voltage-balance checks (cell voltages 3.627-3.632 V). Cycle count and state of health are not available. The full inspection report is available to qualified buyers on request.
