About
Umicore's Hanau facility (Rodenbacher Chaussee 4, Hanau-Wolfgang) provides ~7,000 t/yr Li-ion battery dismantling and mechanical pre-treatment. Black mass is shipped to Umicore's Hoboken, Belgium hub for full pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical refining. Hanau is Umicore's largest German site (~800 employees). Disassembly of large-format EV traction batteries only — no smelting on-site.
